Chaitrapurnima (Tamil for the April full moon day) is one of the best times to experience the sunset and moonrise over the ocean in Kanyakumari simultaneously. Kanyakumari is also known as Cape Comorin. A dip in the ‘Triveni Sangam’ (confluence of the three seas) at Kanyakumari is considered holy. Here, the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. It is famed for its incomparable geographical location of not only its land’s end, but also for Tri-sea (Arabian sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal) confluence. Kanyakumari is the ‘Land’s End’ of the Indian subcontinent, located in the state of Tamilnadu in south India.
